First Step of my Journey :)

I am really happy that I did as I expected on the final Day and sored >720, which I think should put me in a good position. I am planning to apply for fall 2007.

I need to figure out how I can make the most of the time I have at my hand. Any suggestions ?? Things which could help me make a stronger case for the top B schools and add value to my application.

How to start researching the schools etc etc :)

Thanks to all you wonderful people. Your blogs have been a great source of inspiration !!! Thanks for the wishes and the tips too :)

Incase anyone has any questions regarding GMAT I would be glad to answer. I have benifited a lot form the fellow bloggers and would sure want to give back to the comunity.

great score - at this point the GMAT is completely a non-issue for your application, so it's time to focus on your story...how will you differentiate yourself from everyone else who falls into your "type" - not so much racially/ethnically but in terms of your work background and your future goals.

in terms of school selection, you have plenty of time to apply to 6 or even 8 schools so start thinking about a round 1 / round 2 strategy. it would be ideal if you could make a trip out to the schools you are considering, but as a backup i recommend talking with the students who run the clubs in which you might be interested. in most cases you can find this info on the public sites of each school. in my experience, these conversations will start out with a specific focus on the club or activity, but can quickly expand to give you a broader feel for the school and its students.

and, by the way, doing this type of legwork also demonstrates your commitment to the process and your interest in really getting to know a school. so when they ask you why HBS or why Columbia you can include - "you know, i spoke to several students and i felt a good fit."

Congratulations on the score! Now you should decide on target schools and start drafting your essays based on this year's questions :)

Any tips on Data Suff? I seem to be lacking a lot in that area.
